Wight Digital Radio is a new and exciting development for broadcasting on the Isle of Wight, bringing together the Island’s long-established commercial station, Isle of Wight Radio, alongside the much-loved local community station, Vectis Radio. By combining experience, local knowledge, and a passion for great radio, Wight Digital Radio aims to deliver a rich and diverse listening experience for audiences across the Island.

 

Launching in April 2026, the multiplex will initially reach nearly 80% of the Island’s population. This marks a significant step forward in digital radio coverage locally, with clear ambitions to expand even further. Over time, additional transmitters will be introduced to improve coverage and ensure even more listeners can enjoy the benefits of digital broadcasting.

 

With its unique mix of specialist, community, and commercial radio stations, Wight Digital Radio will significantly increase listener choice on the Isle of Wight. Whether audiences are looking for music, local news, niche programming, or community-focused content, the platform will offer something for everyone.
